Theatre Memphis Targets New Date for Performances

Memphis, TN – Theatre Memphis is looking forward to commemorating its 100th anniversary season in 2021 with an amended schedule of blockbuster shows and celebratory events.  When our season begins with Hello, Dolly!, as soon as possible in 2021, our patrons will have the opportunity to experience our nationally recognized organization in a gloriously renovated and expanded Theatre.  Hello Dolly!, will kick off an amazing season that features an array of new and well-known productions including Our Town, and Ragtime in the Lohrey Stage, and American Son in the Next Stage.

In making changes to our 2020 - 2021 season, Executive Director Debbie Litch adds, "Our hearts go out to all affected by the COVID-19 virus. Every intention and action of ours is to bring joy to the public while keeping the public as safe as possible at our live events as we all aspire to adjust to our new everyday existence."

In looking forward to the start of the 2020-21 Season, Litch says enthusiastically, "When we reopen, and we hope it will be in the Spring of 2021, you can be sure we will uphold the highest standards of safety to maintain the well-being of our staff, volunteers and patrons. As a community leader of Memphis arts, the protection of our patrons, volunteers and staff is as much a part of our mission as is our always entertaining the community. We are committed to the continued care of the community and commitment to compliance to latest government and medical professional guidelines pertaining to COVID-19."

Litch offers, "Our necessary delays are disappointing for now, but I can promise you Theatre Memphis will not disappoint you when we welcome you back into our facility with Hello, Dolly!  Until then, stay safe and stay connected.  We have a world of weekly surprises and updates to share with you in subscriber emails, on social media, and on our Theatre Memphis website  www.theatrememphis.org."
