THEATRE MEMPHIS SUMMER PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP
It’s time to start making summer plans and we are so excited about this year’s Summer Performance Workshop! We’ll spend an adventure-filled month in the rehearsal room with, MARJORIE AND THE MAGIC WORDS, a play by local theatre artist, Bob Arnold. And the icing on the cake? We’ll top off our time together with three public performances on the Theatre Memphis main stage, the Lohrey Stage.
About the Show
Bookworm Marjorie is jealous of her sister's birthday present. So she travels through a series of great stories from classic literature in order to find the magic words that will help her. A fast-paced, fun-filled tale about the power of language and stories. Still curious about the play? Listen to Chatterbox Audio Theater’s collaboration with Theatre Memphis by click here.
About the Workshop
This workshop is for students 6 – 18 years old who are interested in the production process. Whether it’s your first time on stage, or you feel like the theatre is your home away from home, we have a place for you. From the audition process to the curtain call, workshop participants will learn the ins and outs of putting a play together.
We believe in the power of ensemble. Each young artist will have a key part in the production and together they will create a new piece of art that could have never been made without teamwork.
