November & December Opportunities

All volunteers at Theatre Memphis receive complimentary tickets.

Backstage Crew.....

Volunteers age 16+ welcome. It is preferable that crew members volunteer for the entire technical rehearsal and performance process.  If that is not possible, for the consistency and quality of the show, you must sign up for most of the technical rehearsals and at least half of the performances.  Applicants who can work the full schedule will be given preference. Our crew members are assigned specific duties, which they learn during a one to two-week technical rehearsal period.  They continue to fulfill those duties during the three to four-week run of the show.   To achieve the best possible show quality, we must have a crew that is well trained and consistent.  Crew assignments are a vital part of the production.  ALSO, when the final schedule is posted, we need you to stay true to the dates you have committed to.  It is VERY hard to replace you at the last minute or without notice.    All crew members  are required to:
         - Follow directions well.
         - Work independently at times.
         - Have reliable transportation

Urinetown
Witty and Irreverent.
A satire of capitalism with a wink to great musicals of the past, this musical is set in the not too distant future when the country has had a 20-year drought. There is a terrible water shortage that has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. All citizens must use public amenities regulated by a single company that profits by charging admission. A young hero believes everyone should have the right to relieve themselves for free and he takes on the fight while also falling for the daughter of the owner of the money-hungry corporation. Things don't look good for his cause … or his romantic life.

Auditions.....

Our productions are cast by an open audition and callback process. In general, we require audition appointments for all of our productions so that we can better manage your audition experience. Each production has its own set of auditions.  Please review a show's detailed audition notice for more thorough information.
