Jauna Chatman Ellis, a native Memphian, is a graduate of Overton High School for the Performing Arts. She then attended the University of Mississippi on a Vocal Music Scholarship, but received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre. Jauna is a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she is member of the Chancel Choir. She is married to Calvin Ellis, and enjoys working alongside him in various musical projects at their church and throughout the community. Her pride and joy is in her two beautiful children, Caleb and Carrington. Jauna’s latest productions were “ Motherhood The Musical “ with Germantown Community Theatre, and a community concert entitled, “Jauna Ellis and Friends,” featuring classical works, musical theatre favorites, and spirituals. Last year she completed “Beautiful, the Carole King Musical” at Theatre Memphis where she played one of the Lead Shirelles.
Both the Lohrey Theatre and the Next Stage Theatre are wheelchair accessible with a handicapped accessible restroom on the same level as the main lobby to both venues. The Lohrey Theatre also provides hearing assisted equipment to any who may require or request it, at no charge.
The black box Next Stage seats up to 110 and is also wheelchair accessible with state of the art equipment for sound and lighting.
