Mystery Classic Storms Theatre Memphis.
Memphis, TN – Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, the longest running play on London’s West End, will take the Theatre
Memphis Lohrey Theatre by storm October 11 – 27, 2024. In this clever and all-time favorite mystery, guests and staff
are stranded at Monkswell Manor during a snowstorm when a local woman is murdered. It soon becomes clear that the
murderer is amongst them. A police inspector interrogates them as they grow increasingly suspicious of each other; and
when a second murder takes place, tension and fear escalate. Seven strangers turn on one another as an unsuspecting
twist reveals who-done-it.
Bruce Huffman in his debut to directing in the Lohrey Theatre, credits his cast and Theatre Memphis production staff for
helping to realize his vision. “The intricate web woven by Agatha Christie has kept us engaged as the cast navigates the
challenges of bringing each character to life,” he says. “The love for storytelling is remarkable and the suspenseful
atmosphere of the play has fueled creativity and innovation on all levels. And where it counts most with the story,
deception.”
Theatre Memphis Executive Producer, Debbie Litch, says it is no mystery that The Mousetrap will be popular. “From the
outset of bringing this extraordinary cast together with Bruce, we knew that this would be a great offering for our
October slot. Bringing this kind of show together with all the period details is what we love to produce at Theatre
Memphis.”
