Chicago: Teen Edition Workshop Intensive SPW 2026

Chicago: Teen Edition (ages 13-18)

Director/Choreographer: Michelle Mitchell, Music Director: TBD

In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorine Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap… until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another “Merry Murderess,” Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the “American Dream”: fame, fortune, and acquittal.
This production will be performed on the set of the Next Stage production of The Shawshank Redemption and will incorporate lights, sounds and costumes created specifically for this show by cadets from our Tech Academy Program. Completely performed and run by the participants of our youth programing, the cast and crew will have an experience led by theatre professionals.
An optional audition for campers will be held on June 29th. All campers are encouraged to come to the audition as a learning experience, but each camper will be given a role regardless of auditions.
